What is Laughter Yoga?
Laughter Yoga is a way of laughing that requires no jokes or comedy. It starts off with simulated laughter that very quickly becomes real through eye contact, movement and a willingness to participate.
The combination of yogic breathing with playful exercises gets the laughter and the oxygen flowing for amazing health and cognitive effects.
Scientific research has suggested you get the same benefits from simulated laughter that you do from genuine laughter – but spontaneous laughter is usually only for a few seconds, you need a good 10 mins to get the full advantages, plus it needs to be deep and hearty from the belly- which laughter yoga provides.
In a world where laughter triggers may not be so forthcoming its best not to leave laughter to chance!
